Tentang Kami

The Directorate General of Higher Education has the mandate to formulate and implement policies in the higher education sector.

The Directorate General of Higher Education has strategic program performance indicators that contribute to achieving the 2025–2029 Vision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology: to realize inclusive, adaptive, and impactful higher education, science, and technology in support of national transformation toward Golden Indonesia 2045.


Vision

Ensuring equitable access to quality higher education, in alignment with the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision, Asta Cita, and National Priority 4 of the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan.

Mission

  1. Enhanced provision of equitable and quality higher education;
  2. Improved quality and relevance of higher education graduates;
  3. Improved qualifications and management of higher education human resources;
  4. Mapping of higher education institutions according to their respective areas of excellence;
  5. Improved quality of higher education-related policies;
  6. Improved quality of governance.

Task

  • Formulating and implementing policies in the field of higher education.

Function

  • Formulation of policies in the fields of vocational higher education and academic higher education;
  • Implementation of policies in the fields of vocational higher education and academic higher education;
  • Implementation of policies related to the development of vocational competencies, vocational lecturers, and vocational education personnel in vocational higher education;
  • Implementation of partnerships and alignment between vocational higher education institutions and academic higher education institutions established by the community and by foreign state representatives or foreign institutions;
  • Implementation and facilitation of quality improvement and quality assurance in vocational higher education and academic higher education;
  • Implementation of monitoring, analysis, evaluation, and reporting in the fields of vocational higher education and academic higher education;
  • Implementation of administrative affairs of the Directorate General;
  • Implementation of other functions assigned by the Minister.

A Brief History

The Directorate General of Higher Education is a First Echelon Unit within the organizational structure of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, pursuant to Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Regulation Number 1 of 2024 on the Organization and Work Procedures of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 189 of 2024 on the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.
